Under Young Youth Safe City Project, a conference was held at GCG, Sector 11, Chandigarh by Chandigarh Police. Sh. Alok Kumar, IPS, DIG/UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Naunihal Singh, IPS, SSP/Chandigarh were also present at the occasion. Smt. Achla Dogra, Principal, GCG-11 promised to provide maximum number of volunteers with better communication skills for helping Chandigarh police in sensitizing general public for their own security and road safety. Around 300 girl students and GCG college staff attended this conference. The main emphasis at the conference was to give strength upon the communication between police and public to aware about security measures and road safety.
Another step was taken ahead under Young Youth Safe City Project. Today around 80 students of MCM DAV College Sector 36 in groups of 19 went door to door at the residential area of sector 35 and 36 along with local police and traffic police to make them aware about their personal security and road safety.
