Anushka Disney Signs AGNEE for The AVENGERS Theme Song

Disney Signs AGNEE for The AVENGERS Theme Song Disney gives its Indian comic fans another reason to celebrate! In the recent spate of developments Walt Disney Pictures has signed AGNEE a popular Indian rock band to create a theme song for their upcoming action-adventure flick The Avengers. The movie will bring together the super hero team of Marvel Comics characters for the first time ever, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk and more, as they are forced to band together to battle the biggest foe they've ever faced. The Avengers is set to release in India on 27th April, 2012, a week before the US release date. The film will release in
3D as well and in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The Avengers is one of the most anticipated Hollywood films this year and Agnee being a popular band in India makes it a double bonanza for the Indian comic fans. The Avengers themed song and the music video is to release worldwide in the month of March. Disney Spokesperson comments “We are glad that we have signed Agnee to compose the theme song for Avengers. This initiative will widen the appeal of The Avengers and help connect with new set of audience. Furthermore, considering the popularity of Agnee amongst the youth, this endeavor will lend in elevating the popularity of the Avengers property amongst its target audience.”
Koco and Mohan from Agnee said "We are great fan of the superheroes and it gives us a great please to be a part of Disney’s epic action-adventure flick The Avengers. We're working with the awesome Abbas Tyrewala on lyrics on this one. The song's going to follow the general theme of the movie without being overtly obvious about the story, just as most of our theme songs usually are. We're looking forward to a great association with Disney and Abbas, and are already at work on the song."

About Agnee: Agnee launched their first album with Sony BMG (now Sony Music) in 2007, and the songs from the album like Sadho Re, Kabira, Shaam Tanha and Ujale Baaz have since gone on to become cult hits. In
2009, the band decided to go independent and became the first mainstream band to release singles for free download, starting a trend subsequently followed by almost all leading artists with their non-film releases.
